The man who today was killed in front of a supermarket On Indira Gandhiweg in Suriname, CCTV footage of 47-year-old Edward K. shows that K. was armed with a hacksaw and approached a man in a cap.
The man attacked is JM, 31, a member of the Suriname Security and Assistance Service (BBS). The images (below) show that M. drew his weapon and fired in Edward’s direction. He was shot in the abdomen.
After Edward was shot in the abdominal area, he fell and died instantly. The police were alerted and went to the scene to investigate. The BBS’er was transferred to the police station by the Suriname Police to be arraigned before an auxiliary officer.
The body of Edward, who is said to be mentally ill, has been seized for autopsy. The hack was also seized by the forensic investigation, in connection with the further investigation.
