The Loire is placed in yellow vigilance for stormy risks until Thursday morning. Violent storms are falling this Wednesday, June 22 in the Loire and Saint-Étienne. The Rhône and Lyon were not spared either.
The north of the department is particularly affected, in particular the roofs and windshields of cars, as shown this video of vehicles destroyed at the Knife SNCF station.
In the afternoon, impressive hailstorms fell in Montbrison and Roanne.
400 firefighter interventions in the Loire

Hailstone in hand, bullet size ping pong according to netizens, the earth can be seen covered with a blanket of hail.
The storm rain/hail climatic event in the north is mainly located in the agglomeration of Roanne.
The firefighters of the Loire count 400 interventions, mainly because of flooding and tarping of roofs. At 7:30 p.m., the Loire SDIS received 800 calls.
No victim
Twenty-two gear and 100 firefighters are involved in these interventions.
There are currently no victims. A sector command post has been set up in Roanne and Montbrison. The latter has just been deactivated.
The population is invited to avoid their movements and to call for help only in case of absolute necessity.
Thursday morning, firefighters will resume tarping operations. Aerial reconnaissance by drones will take place to map the disaster areas.
Storms are expected to return Thursday afternoon according to Météo France.
