EIRORADIO opening of the new concert season live from Riga Dome with the 30th anniversary of the vocal symphonic music program Eternal Light will celebrate the youth choir “While …”.
It is a pleasure that one of the leading Latvian choirs will be heard not only by Latvian Radio 3 “Klasika”, but also by Lithuanian and Estonian listeners at the time of playback, while later the recording will be broadcast in Germany and Croatia. The multipoint encoded in the name of the choir – while we are young, meanwhile everything is possible and achievable, focuses on the involvement of stage skills and cooperation partners. This is also confirmed by the program, the author and artistic director of which is the conductor Aivis Greters.
In the concert center – Jēkabs Jančevska new work “How to tell a song” with the poetry lines of Knut Skujenieks, which has become a special dedication to the “While …” anniversary and in this concert will experience the world premiere.
The concert will be opened by the cantata of the late composer Peter Bhutan this summer Eternal Light, in which the presence of eternal light is revealed through the texts of the canonical Mass, the Psalm of the Old Testament and the poetry of Aspazija, but the work of the choir of Richard Dubra will end Silence, Love and Light. Its title contains the words of Mother Teresa about the silence of the moment of contemplation, the radiant power of love and the eternal light.
The chamber orchestra will take part in the concert Sinfonietta Riga, with which the choir “While …” has a long – term partnership.
