Le Mans counts on its artists to get the city moving! And many of them live in Sarthe. No need to be in big cities or Paris, culture is expressed in places that were said to sleep. Immersion in the capital of the Sarthe in the Envie Dehors show this Sunday December 4th at 12.55pm.

The city of the Plantagenets is known worldwide for its prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, the famous rillette. But do you know the heart of this city classified as a City of Art and History with its magnificent medieval centre, its hundred half-timbered houses and of course its museums, parks? It is true that Le Mans has something to appeal to culture buffs, especially as it is easily accessible from Paris, Angers or Nantes. But there is also everything that makes it alive today: the creators, the artists who give it a real facelift! To be convinced of this, go next to the Visitation, a convent which became barracks and then a prison after the French Revolution, rehabilitated as a vital space with bars, restaurants and shops and where the FIAA the International Fund for Contemporary Arts. Not very far from there, you can push the door of the film city recently created which brings together producers, authors, videographers, directors and is open to all professionals from writing a film to its distribution. And how to miss the Plongeoir-Cité du cirque marquee. It opened its doors on November 14th and welcomed more than 6,000 spectators for its first performance, incredible, right?

There really is a kind of urban art culture in Le Mans, the city is very open on the subject and what’s more, they organized the festival 3 years ago Plein Champs, dedicated to this type of art. Kar le Gou, an urban artist, also participated. For 2 years, the creations of this visual arts teacher have been blooming on the walls of the city! His drawings are printed in several pieces which must then be glued, paying great attention to the joints. Sometimes he asks for permission, sometimes he attacks haphazardly. And other times it’s the people who contact her through social networks and say “I have a piece of wall, can you stick on it? The collage can be removed or defaced, but people are generally very respectful! Kar Le Gou, through her collages, offers the people of Le Mans food for thought on social issues such as global warming. Julie managed to follow her for a collage operation.

His stage name HDW is a reference to the word “Handwriting”: translate with handwriting . Literary educated and in love with urban cultures, he started writing his lyrics 10 years ago. His favorite themes of him: fallen love, the search for the ideal. He has also long been inspired by social violence, the city. Paradox because Frédéric grew up in the Sarthe countryside and never lived in the city! When he entered the world of work, he really felt precariousness and wanted to express it
