Vaikule has repeatedly explained her position, that is, why she is against the war.
“I don’t understand how a war can start, how you can kill. In the first days of the war, I kept saying – well, where is the mercy? Now I understand – what I’m talking about, what kind of mercy? Cities are being destroyed! Why such shamelessness to allow to do this to myself? Everything burns inside me. I don’t know. I don’t understand, I think people have gone crazy. Ukraine was attacked. And that’s it, period,” she once stated her position.
