King Charles III of England has never expressed a desire to live in Windsor Castle. Mainly he found the noise caused by the planes flying over to be disturbing, but in the last months the king has changed his mind, according to “Daily mail”.

The media reports that workers can be seen near the palace at the moment, the king is busy thinking about the improvements to the palace. When the private apartments of the late Queen Elizabeth were renovated, some of the old belongings were put into storage, but many new works of art and antiques, which were the king’s favorites, were brought in.
Electric charging points are installed in several places in Windsor Castle, many new plants are planted in the castle park.
Windsor is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world today, it has been the home and official residence of the British royal family for almost 1,000 years, with approximately 150 people staying every day.
Queen Elizabeth really liked it here, so she spent a large part of her time in the palace – especially in the apartments with a view of the beautiful rose garden designed by Prince Philip. The apartments are private and are practically not shown to the general public.
Although Windsor Castle previously seemed to be loved by the entire royal family except for Charles, who always preferred Gloucestershire House, which he bought in 1980 and where he enjoys staying, he has been spotted in Windsor more and more recently.
It started even before his mother’s death, as Charles tried to spend more and more time with Elizabeth. Currently, the king is in the palace two or three days a week, keeping an eye on the extensive renovations taking place in the palace.
Currently, Charles is still using his existing suite of rooms during his stay at the palace, but it is likely that there could be some changes following improvements to the late Queen’s suites.
“The king is currently making the palace more to his taste, as expected. His favorite works of art and belongings are brought in to make him feel better there,” informed an expert.
