Video: Kevin Spacey faces new allegations of sexually assaulting a man in Britain

The UK’s Crown Prosecution Service announced on Wednesday that US actor Kevin Spacey, who is on trial in Britain on charges of sexually assaulting three men, will also face new sex offender charges.

The Crown Prosecution Service has dropped “further criminal charges against Kevin Spacey (63) relating to multiple sexual assaults on a man between 2001 and 2004”, according to the UK’s sensitive and complex investigation department.

He added that Spacey is also accused of forcing the same man to “perform sexual acts without his consent.”

The two-time Academy Award-winning actor (for “American Beauty” and “Youjewel Suspects”) originally went on trial in Britain on four counts of sexually assaulting three men between March 2005 and April 2013, when he was a London theater manager.

Spacey pleaded not guilty during a pre-trial hearing related to the charges in July.

Spacey was among the first celebrities addressed by the global “Me Too” movement, launched from the United States.

The allegations made against Spacey at the time had a major impact on his career, as the ‘Netflix’ platform barred him from the ‘House of Cards’ series, in which he was the lead actor.

In October, a New York court acquitted Spacey of sexual harassment charges brought against him by actor Anthony Rapp over allegations that occurred 36 years ago at a party in Manhattan.

Additionally, Spacey was charged with indecent assault and sexual assault in Massachusetts on the east coast of the United States. In July 2016, he was accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old bar worker after making him drink alcohol. These charges were dropped in July 2019.
