Updated Vijr-1 air-to-ground guided missiles have been successfully tested in Russia, it reported Wednesday. RIA Novosti referring to the press service of the Russian defense consortium Kalashnikov.
It is reported that the missile was launched from a Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopter and that the modifications made “increased the probability of impact during short-range launches and increased stability in flight.”
Previously, Kalashnikov shared a video of the tests of his new weapon on his Russian social network account. VKontakte.

The images show how a projectile hits the dyno in the form of a reinforced slab of steel or concrete, or both. Due to the shock wave, one of the drones recording the tests was damaged and fell in front of the test bench.
The Vijr-1 is an anti-tank system designed for use by Su-25T and Su-39 attack aircraft and Ka-50 and Ka-52 helicopters. In addition, this projectile can be used by warships and small patrol boats.
The missile’s maximum range is 10 kilometers and its flight speed is 600 meters per second.
The ammunition is capable of piercing a homogeneous armor with a thickness of 750 millimeters behind the reactive armor.
