VIDEO: Kalashnikov publishes tests of the updated version of the anti-tank missile

The missile has been designed for use from helicopters to attack aircraft and is capable of piercing 750-millimeter-thick armor.

Updated Vijr-1 air-to-ground guided missiles have been successfully tested in Russia, it reported Wednesday. RIA Novosti referring to the press service of the Russian defense consortium Kalashnikov.

The Vijr-1 is an anti-tank system designed for use by Su-25T and Su-39 attack aircraft and Ka-50 and Ka-52 helicopters. In addition, this projectile can be used by warships and small patrol boats.

The missile’s maximum range is 10 kilometers and its flight speed is 600 meters per second.

The ammunition is capable of piercing a homogeneous armor with a thickness of 750 millimeters behind the reactive armor.
