A car and a house swallowed up in a single night. In Dagneux, in Ain, the equivalent of a month of rain fell on Tuesday October 8. A resident must wade to get home. “There are sixty centimeters of water in the house”he specifies, deploring that the work he had just completed with his partner was “to do again”. To evacuate the water, the firefighters had to break a surrounding wall of their land.
The entire housing estate was affected by this stormy episode that began the evening before, on the evening of Monday October 7. Bad weather caused damage throughout central-eastern France. In Fraisans, in the Jura, the inhabitants are tired, annoyed by the repetition of episodes of torrential rain.
In the neighboring department, in Saône-et-Loire, the town of Mervans also woke up with its feet in the water. A restaurateur sees his establishment flooded for the third time this year. The decline is announced in the afternoon.
