Faced with the alarming upsurge in cases of coronavirus contamination, local authorities in Tangier, supported by associative actors, have stepped up their awareness-raising operations against the dangers of non-compliance with preventive health measures. Reportage.

Elements of the security forces and those of the auxiliary forces, as well as officials, are currently roaming the streets of Tangier in order to educate citizens on the dangers of Covid-19.
Dozens of rescuers from the Moroccan Red Crescent, supported by civil society actors, have also mobilized to join these awareness-raising operations.
In addition to these joint efforts, protective masks are currently being distributed to families in the targeted neighborhoods.
“Our contribution to this campaign is a civic duty. We wanted to support the local authorities. Our role is to remind citizens of the health prevention instructions, including wearing a mask and respecting barrier gestures, ”said Mohamed Jbari, regional coordinator of the Moroccan Red Crescent in Tangier.
Among the districts concerned, figure Gorziana, in Beni Mekada, strongly affected by the progression of the virus.
Young rescuers thus roam the streets, go to cafes and restaurants and even knock on the doors of houses to spread their message and distribute sanitary masks.
