“Hope and Creation”, an associative pillar of Garges-les-Gonesse, appeals to the thieves who stole his computers and audio-visual equipment last week. The damage is financial, but above all moral: with the disappearance of hard drives, the whole history of the association and all its projects have vanished.
Hind Ayadi, founder of the Hope and Creation association oscillates between depression and anger. Her black cap screwed on her head, the one who has been struggling for 15 years to help the young people of her neighborhood, La Muette, but also of Garges-les-Gonesse knows it: those who have stolen the computer and audio-visual equipment from the association on the night of Thursday to last Friday knew the premises perfectly. They entered through the back of the building, forced the door and left with the 4 laptops placed on the desks, as well as the camera, video accessories, sound cases and a speaker. The video equipment was stored in the shed, locked, but whose lock was forced.
“They stole our heritage, they stole themselves!”

The head of the association refuses to communicate on the amount of the damage, which moreover, is not fully covered by the insurance, but especially recalls the sentimental loss, even patrimonial. Thousands of photos, videos of young people and residents recount 15 years of commitment, actions and workshops: memories of young people killed or injured in fights, clips, images of the many cleans-challenges in the cities, and especially many projects in progress which find themselves blocked, because everything has disappeared.

The head of the association launched an appeal on social networks relayed by the young people of the district to ask the burglars to return the stolen equipment: “We don’t want to know who it is, or send young people to prison, because our job is integration“, précis Hind Ayadi. “They can go through intermediaries, it doesn’t matter, we are ready to pass the towel. What we want is to recover our working tool.“
This call for responsibility launched on social networks this weekend has not yet had an effect. The investigation is entrusted to the Sarcelles police station.
Espoir et Création declares 4 employees and nearly a thousand members, mainly young people supported on a daily or occasional basis. The association is mainly financed by the State and the services offered by its social media ‘Urban street reporter“. But without a camera or a computer, the webzine can no longer function, nor bring in money for the association.
