Video in circulation of the moment of the surrender of the Russian army, raising the white flag

KIEV – A video is circulating on social media showing three Russian soldiers surrendering to Ukrainian forces as their personal transport armored vehicle (APC) raises a makeshift white flag.

Vitaly Kim, head of the military administration of the Nikolayev region, shared this video on his official Telegram channel on Wednesday. He claimed that the Russian army sold armored vehicles to the Ukrainian army as part of the surrender process.

“We bought the BMP-2 (APC),” Kim wrote in her statement, as reported by pro-Ukrainian news bulletin zn.ua quoted by New York postFriday (7/10/2022).

Kim shared more details about the meeting on her personal Telegram page.

“The invaders have begun to surrender with their equipment in the Kherson area. Russian soldiers, follow their example. How to properly surrender to the Ukrainian Armed Forces-see here, “she wrote.

The footage, which was also uploaded to the pro-Ukrainian “Nikolayevskiy Vanyok” Telegram channel, shows an armored vehicle with a white sheet tied to the gun barrel approaching a seemingly predetermined position.

A group of heavily armed Ukrainian soldiers were waiting for the vehicle to arrive in an open field.

Once the APC was within range, the Ukrainians pointed their guns at it and ordered the crew to lay down their weapons.

Two Russian soldiers immediately obeyed and got out of the vehicle with their hands raised.
