The author, composer and singer for more than twenty years has notably addressed the strong friendship that he had woven with Michel Delpech, who died in January 2016 following a cancer. When the interpreter of the Loir-et-Cher was still hospitalized, Bénabar visited him regularly. Both of them had resumed together At Laurette, for an album of duets released by the late singer in 2006. “I miss him“, conceded the singer of 51 years.

A cover album without Bénabar

But alongside Louane, Vianney or even Kendji Girac, Bénabar’s voice was absent since he had declined the proposal: “I see with dismay that my name appears in a hypothetical and opportunistic cover album by my friend Michel Delpech“he wrote in 2016 on Facebook before adding : “I do not endorse this ‘product’ whose promotion begins even before the funeral of the person concerned.
