This is one of the unusual little scenes of this 6e day of Top 14. We have been playing for barely 6 minutes at Aguilera between Biarritz and Lyon, and the referee Cedric Marchat is suddenly seized with a little panic.
The reason ? Without realising it, his whistle fell as the game unfolded. Via the microphone placed on him, Cédric Marchat then addressed one of his accessors: “I lost the whistle! Go get me another one, I lost the whistle! “. While following the game with one eye, the referee had the presence of mind to retrace his steps and find – luckily – the lost object. All without stopping the game, and the players do not realize it. Let’s salute him!
Fortunately for Cédric Marchat, no fault occurred during these few seconds without his whistle. An isolated sequence obviously by David Reboursière, the arbiter-statistician who treats Twitter with his videos and to whom nothing escapes.
The BOPB conceded its second defeat of the season at home against LOU (5-40), Pierre Mignoni’s men even pocketing the offensive bonus point.
