A static guard in front of Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin passed out Wednesday night in Westminster.

Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin reached London on Wednesday. It is on display in Westminster Hall for tens of thousands of Brits to pay their respects to. The coffin is protected by security cords and by the presence of several uniformed guards who remain motionless for hours.

On Wednesday evening, shortly after midnight, one of the antistatic guards abruptly collapsed to the ground. The man fell on his stomach to the ground.

Police officers in the vicinity intervened to help him. As the images show, however, the other three guards placed nearby remained stationary and did not move. The origin of the guard’s discomfort is unknown.

The BBC briefly interrupted the transmission of live images following the discomfort.

From 4 pm, Wednesday afternoon, the British can pay a final tribute to the queen and pass in front of her coffin, closed, without stopping. Many people have watery eyes or are in tears. 750,000 people are expected. Elizabeth II’s funeral will be celebrated next Monday.
