The Dakar, the first event on the calendar of this year’s World Rally Raid Championship, had its fourth stage yesterday, starting and finishing in Ha’il. After the rains in the region, the riders found wet sand, which was more physically demanding.
Despite this, Joan Barreda was the one to take the lead on a stage which allowed Daniel Sanders to stay ahead of the rally despite minor navigation errors.
