Aston Villa celebrated their first victory in the Premier League after three games without a win and their first full success of the new year.
The Birmingham team beat Newcastle United 2-0 at home. Ollie Watkins (13th) and Bertrand Traore (42nd) scored the hosts in the first half of the game.
Aston Villa moves up to eighth place in the table and could theoretically reach fourth place due to the loss points from two postponed games. The guests from northern England are 16th in the back of the table.
