Video game inspired by the history of the village launched at “Óbidos Vila Natal”

The first video game created at the Óbidos Technological Park will be launched in Vila Natal, in an edition in which visitors will also be able to try out a robotic car.
Developed by the Red Dagger studio team, led by designer and Art Director Tiago Colaço, the first video game created at the Óbidos Technological Park is called “Cavaleiro Artur” and is inspired by the history of the medieval town in the district of Leiria.
In the game, players take on the role of Artur, “a brave knight who is part of the forces commanded by D. Afonso Henriques during the conquest of Óbidos Castle from the Moors and who dreams of gaining the respect of his King and his knights”, says the ‘designer’ Tiago Colaço, mentioned in the statement.
However, on the eve of the match “Artur ends up forgotten in the corner of a tavern” and to reach the castle of Óbidos, where he is awaited (final stage of the game), the knight “faces several enemies, countless obstacles, and has to collect all the coins as you can”, reads the note.
The 2023 edition of Óbidos Vila Natal, which will take place between this Thursday and December 31st, also features another technological innovation created in the technology park: the RO-Bot – Rover Óbidos.
Designed by the companies Impactwave, JSIO, Gadget Priority and R&S Tech (from design to production of physical and electronic components, including the development of the application that allows controlling the mechanism), the robot was created within the scope of the deCode program – Academia de Programação e Robótica (2023 edition), a project by Óbidos Parque that aims to provide training in programming languages ​​and enhance the curricula of children and young people of school age.
In the Óbidos Parque space, visitors to Vila Natal “will be able to discover, experience and have fun with this robotic car”, announced the organization.
In this year’s edition of the wizards’ Christmas, the public will also have the opportunity to enjoy a broomstick slide, a potions laboratory and a giant’s house, among other activities.
The village will be covered by a blanket of artificial snow, measuring 2,400 square meters. An ice rink and two show stages will be installed at the venue, the “Magic Hall” and the “Wizards’ Court”.
The program will include 410 presentations and five resident shows combining theater, circus arts, comedy and environmental awareness will be staged, two of which are debuting, as well as special Christmas concerts.
With an investment of around 500 thousand, Óbidos Vila Natal will take place every day of the week, ending only on Christmas Day.
