In the new developments surrounding the health of the elderly woman, according to her treating doctors, her health condition is considered serious, but she has escaped danger. The woman has craniocephalic injuries and is being treated in a normal hospital bed.
How the ATM episode started
According to testimonies gathered by the police from eyewitnesses, the 18-year-old was in the queue for a transaction at the bank’s ATM located on Archaio Theatrou Street.
Then, the young man passed some people who were waiting to be served and went to the ATM. At that moment, the 72-year-old approached him to complain about skipping the priority queue and he turned and pushed her.
As a result, the 72-year-old fell to the ground and seriously hit her head, with the doctors underlining that the woman lost a lot of blood from the blow.
What did the 18-year-old who pushed the 72-year-old say
The 18-year-old perpetrator of the incident claimed to the police that he did not want to injure the 72-year-old woman. As he claimed, when he was at the ATM he felt a pull and was shaken as a result of which he inadvertently pushed the woman.
In fact, he emphasized that he did not leave the scene, he called EKAB while he sought help at a neighboring pharmacy.
The 18-year-old has been arrested and remains in custody until he crosses the threshold of Justice.
