Elden Ring has a dark, open fantasy world, so no wonder you keep running into poor souls who didn’t make it. Redditor Rabbit_Junky had the fun of reconstructing the weird death of an NPC in a video that was quite plausible – and that could have been quite embarrassing.
Dead bodies on your way to the Elden King are not uncommon and by that we don’t mean the opponents that you yourself flattened, but the dying extras in the ditch that were there from the start.
Rabbit_Junky has taken a dead man in a particularly odd spot – on top of a pillar – and has “recreated” exactly what happened. Result of the investigation: It was probably an accident and a pretty stupid one at that, but see for yourself:
Rabbit_Junky places his gloomy character exactly on a bridge railing at the level of the dead NPC and lets himself be bowled off the parapet by a rolling ball à la Indiana Jones, voilà: he comes to rest exactly where the corpse was.

However, tight-looking jumps and paths close to the abyss shouldn’t stress you out, because there are a few of those in the video, in which Rabbit_Junky likes to dangerously toy with a fall – maybe to increase the tension.
In any case, he can already convince the community in the comments with this analysis, for them the embarrassing death of the column corpse is already “Dead Man Lore”. You can’t help but feel for him, because those are Soulslikes too: you punch your way through numerous opponents and then get run over by a stupid bullet.
