VIDEO Ferrari has launched the new model Daytona SP3, long awaited by fans of the Icona series

Ferrari has launched the new Daytona SP3 model, long awaited by fans of the Icona series, Reuters reports, quoted by News.ro. With 840 horsepower and a 12-cylinder naturally aspirated engine mounted in the rear of the car, the Daytona SP3 is a tribute to the Ferrari 330 P3 / 4 that dominated Daytona’s 1967 24-hour race.

Ferrari unveiled the new Icona model on Saturday, while general manager Benedetto Vigna points the Italian luxury carmaker to total electrification.

Vigna is a veteran of the technology industry who became CEO of Ferrari in September, promising to deliver his first all-electric vehicle in 2025.

Meanwhile, Ferrari fans have been waiting for more than three years for a second Icona model, after the 2018 Monza.

Ferrari vehicles in the Icona series are special series cars produced in limited numbers, reserved for private collectors and inspired by legendary models from the past.

Recognized by its “Prancing Horse” logo and red racing cars, Ferrari already has three electric hybrid models in its range, including the 296 GTB sports car it unveiled this year.

Ferrari has increasingly reserved polluting V12 engines for limited series models, and Icona cars accounted for only 2% of units delivered in the last quarter, while cars with V12 engines accounted for 12% of group deliveries. It will produce less than 1,600 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A cars, launched this year, with a starting price of just under half a million euros. (Photo: Official Ferrari website)
