A video, posted Thursday, June 4 on Twitter, arouses outrage. A customer violently attacked a cashier, insulting her because of her skin color. The scene took place a few days ago, in Annemasse, in Haute-Savoie, in a Carrefour store.
In the images, we can see a young woman, accompanied by two children, coming out of a Carrefour store, obviously very upset. She attacks a cashier, and does not hesitate to utter racist insults against her. “Dirty negress! Dirty black!”, Launches the client. “There are only blacks to do that. You see Africans like you, it makes you want to kill them”, she continues.
The reasons for this altercation are unclear. The employee may have suspected the customer of stealing a product from the store.
Words that obviously shocked Internet users. “The negrophobes are not even hiding more recently in this country”, laments one of them. “We have to find this person and make him answer for his actions,” said another. “In front of his child in addition,” remarks a third.
Carrefour reacts
Faced with the controversy, Carrefour France reacted. “Solidarity with our colleague insulted. These racist remarks are unacceptable. We strongly condemn them and file a complaint. The teams of the store are alongside our collaborator,” said the sign on Twitter.
