Video: Chinese driver survives horror crash in Macau streets

There will be racing in the streets of Macau again this year, but due to the corona virus, no Grand Prix with Formula 3 cars will be driven. There are, for example, GTs. It all went wrong in the warm-up this morning.

At the full throttle section of the track, Ya Qi Zhang, a Chinese driver driving an Audi car, was overtaken just before a quick nod. He doesn’t seem to have noticed, because together the two drivers steered into the fast corner.

Zhang was hit, which sent him straight into the guardrails. The damage was enormous. The Chinese was taken to hospital and reportedly suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung, local media reported. His race weekend in Macau is logically over.
