Al-Marsad newspaper: A circulating video clip documented a quarrel between two poets while one of them was reciting a poem at an Ardah party in Taif.
While reciting his poem, the poet verbally abused another person and belittled him, which aroused his anger and provocation, causing him to take off his shoe to hit him with it, but the audience intervened and prevented him from getting up and gathered around him.
One of the people can also be seen raising his headband and others holding him so that he does not get up and hit the other poet, while another said: “Pray for the Prophet” in an attempt to calm the situation, and the conversation turned upside down.
It is worth noting that poetic dialogues usually erupt in quarrels between poets because of some provocative words that spark tribal tensions.
