video calls can be joined at any time

The WhatsApp application has just made a small update to its instant messaging service which may be important in our daily use of the application. While the ownership of Facebook had to face a wave of departure at the beginning of the year following repeated scandals concerning the protection of personal data on the application. But since then, the most popular messaging service in the world seems to be regaining color, and has been making a series of updates in order to integrate more and more features into its service.

The latest allows users to join group calls (audio or video) even after they have started. This feature was previously not present on the application and it caused many problems for users of the application, followers of the connection at the last minute. Long demanded, it has just made its arrival in a more global overhaul of video calls on WhatsApp.

Join a call in progress: it’s possible

This functionality indeed comes in direct response to the needs encountered by users during the pandemic and the various confinements. Times of the year that have seen our phones overheating, which had become our only gateway to the outside world. WhatsApp assures that since the beginning of 2020 the number of video calls on its application has exploded, and that this increase, caused by the pandemic, does not seem to be absorbed today, while a return to life normal begins in many countries around the world.

Another small change within the application with this update, the layout of the various virtual buttons during a video call has changed. They all joined the lower center bar, leaving more room for those in the call. It will also be possible to see who has been “Guest” join the call (which implies that he has not yet done so) and the people who are already in the video call.
