Are you waiting for another video call with a business meeting today? If you work for Citigroup, you are newly exempt from it, she informed NBC stations.

Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser sent a short message to her 210,000 employees, completely disabling them from Friday’s internal video calls. The ban is intended to encourage employees to draw healthier boundaries between private and professional life.

“The blurring of boundaries between home and office and the relentlessness of pandemic working days have taken a toll on our well-being,” Fraser said in a report. “It simply came to our notice then. Since the return to any normal is still months away, we need to restore some of our previous workflows, ”she added.

While Friday’s video calls with clients and controllers will still be held through the Zoom platform, employees will only communicate with each other by phone to take a break from everlasting video calls.
–
“When our work regularly spills over into the nights, early morning hours and weekends, it can prevent us from fully replenishing our strengths. That’s not good for you, and therefore not for Citi, “the report said.

Fraser, who took office in March, also introduced a company-wide holiday called Citi Reset Day, which will take place on Friday, May 28. She also presented other proposals for the future operation of work at Citigroup, the third largest American bank.

After the pandemic subsided and people returned to the offices, for example, most employees could work in a hybrid – three days a week from the offices, two days from their homes.
–
The announcement came to employees the day after Goldman Sachs chief executive David Solomon spoke about the results of an internal survey of corporate analysts. The survey showed the extreme demands of working conditions, including health concerns for employees who have to work more than a hundred hours a week.
