During the European Heritage Days, this Saturday, September 21, 2024, the Bénéteau site in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie opened its doors to the public. The opportunity to see how the brand’s magnificent sailboats or motorboats are made.
“A boat is a car and a house.” In front of a group of around ten people, Henri Chevrier, director of the Bénéteau factory in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, summarises the complexity of building a ship. “On some boats there are up to 10,000 parts.”
For the first time, on the occasion of its 140th anniversary, the Bénéteau group opened its Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie manufacturing plant to the public on Saturday, September 21. 400 places were available and they sold out like hot cakes in forty-eight hours. Sailing boats and motor boats: twelve models are manufactured here.
