In a video that has gone viral, David Nativel, a volunteer firefighter, filmed the bad weather in Vincendo on Saturday, while helping the inhabitants he met.
The hero of the weekend modestly declines the title: “I’m not a hero, it’s just my role as a rescuer”. David Nativel however came to the aid of several people on Saturday in Vincendo as he left the hairdresser with his two sons. In a 45-minute video, we can see the awe-inspiring torrents of water and mud and the volunteer firefighter’s outstretched hand, assisting those who cross his path. “It’s hard to see that, I couldn’t leave people like that. The worst moment was seeing the family stuck in the car swept away by the water, and not being able to do anything ”, says the thirty-something.
A volunteer firefighter for almost 20 years, he continues: “You have to have the courage and love it! But something like that, it’s the first time I’ve seen it. Coming out of the hairdresser, I felt the earth, the mud very strongly, and I saw the river flowing, and suddenly, like a wave, it happened. ”
His video earns him “Messages from Maurice, from Metropolis, I am told thank you for helping, but I don’t want to be a hero!”
