The capsule was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Saturday, carrying NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian astronaut Alexander Gorbunov, where it successfully completed the docking.

In the capsule were two empty seats assigned to American astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who were lost on the International Space Station. The four are expected to return to Earth next February.

Wilmore and Williams only planned to spend eight days aboard the International Space Station, after arriving aboard the Boeing “Starliner” capsule last June. However, due to technical problems with the vehicle, NASA decided to return it to Earth without a crew.
