So what exactly is “Taigo”? Although it looks quite large visually – it has a high ground clearance and a fairly high seating position – it is built on the MQB A0 platform, known from the Polo and T-Cross models. In terms of dimensions, it is located between the already well-known “T-Cross” and “T-Roc”: the first “Taigo” is 15 cm longer, and the second – 3.7 cm shorter.

The VW Taigo is not technically a completely new car, as it is related to the VW Nivus, a model designed for the South American market. Of course, to make it better implemented in Europe, the Taigo has taken on new design features, both outside and in the interior. One of the design features is related to the lights – LED lights and a continuous chain at the back, as well as “IQ.Light LED Matrix” headlights.
The level of Taigo R-Line equipment is particularly attractive. It includes Recaro seats and a sports steering wheel. Of course, inevitably there is a century-old digital filling – both displays and touch-sensitive buttons. In this version, VW also retains the classic buttons on the multifunction steering wheel.
Although this car is visually and physically taller than an ordinary city dweller, the Taigo is a front-wheel drive car. Its engine range includes three engines with 95, 110 or 150 hp. The smallest of the engines is paired with a manual transmission, while the others also have a DSG machine.
The price of “VW Taigo” in Latvia is from 19,990 euros.
