“This year, the program highlights three topical themes for video art: animation, experiment and solidarity. Encountering video on the big screen and art center Noah in the premises, it will be possible to experience the impact of technological innovations and computer animation on video media, form and stylistic experiments, and works of art that convey a message of solidarity and shared responsibility,” says the festival’s Pieces of water program creator Sandra Ķempele.
In cooperation with partner festivals, in this year’s program, visitors will have the opportunity to view selections of eight video works on three Wednesday evenings, showcasing the latest programs of world-renowned festivals and selections of video art created especially for Riga: Video art and animation on July 19, Video art and experiment July 26 and Video art and solidarity on August 2.
The video artworks will be shown in their original language with English subtitles, and admission to the screenings is free.
