Video | Argentina unravels Bolivia and scores its first win since 2005

The Argentine national team defeated its Bolivian host with two goals to one goal, in a match that was held, Tuesday, at the “Hernando Siles” stadium in the capital, La Paz, for the second round of the World Cup qualifiers for South America.

This victory is the first for Argentina on Bolivian soil since 2005, which came with the same result in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.

In its first half, the match saw almost absolute control of the home side, who were able to open the scoring at the 24th minute, from the header of striker Marcelo Moreno.

Despite the poor level of the guests, they managed to score the equalizing goal, when the Bolivian defender tried to clear the ball and collided with striker Lautaro Martinez and entered the goal in a strange way, moments before the end of the first half.

And the situation continued as it was in the second half with a slight improvement in the level of the Argentine national team, which managed to snatch the victory, with a goal scored by Joaquin Correa in the 79th minute with a powerful shot that hit the left corner of the goalkeeper.

Thus, the Argentine national team increased to 6 points from two victories, after defeating Ecuador with one goal, while the Bolivian national team suffered its second defeat and remained without any points.
