The jury of the Latvian Television Competition “Supernova 2022” and the representatives of LTV have decided to give a place in the final to Miks Dukurs as well, because due to an unforeseen technical failure in the semi-final live on February 5, the artist’s song “First Love” sounded without the intended sound effects.
The sync computer on the effects processing computer failed during the performance, so no additional artistic sound effects were added to the song.
Representatives of the competition jury and LTV evaluated the recording of Mika Dukurs’ performance, concluding that the technical failure had a significant effect on its sound quality. Comparing the recordings of the rehearsal and the semi-finals, you can hear the difference in sound, which is not due to the fault of Mika Dukurs.
Considering that these factors may have changed the results of the semi-final vote, it was decided to invite Miku Dukura to participate in the final of the competition.
