Video: 6.4-meter orca died on a beach in Florida, United States

A 21-foot (6.4-meter) long killer whale arrived this Wednesday to the shore of a beach in eastern Florida, United States, and died stranded on the sand, the authorities reported.

The Flager County Sheriff’s Office posted a series of orca photos online. and several onlookers around him along with warning the population not to approach the place.

The removal of the body of the cetacean and the autopsy to determine the causes of death will be carried out by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and specialists from SeaWorld Orlando (Florida), a theme park which has a rehabilitation and shelter program for marine animals.

The orca was stranded on the beach of Jungle Hut Park, in the town of Palm Coast, about 461 kilometers north of Miami.

Usually killer whales (Orcinus orca), the largest animal in the dolphin family, have their Habitat in cold climates and near coastal areas, but migrate at certain times of the year.
