Several people have claimed that sheep went into a so-called death spiral, as ants sometimes do. Others, however, write that these sheep may have contracted the “circle disease”.
It is a disease caused by a bacterium in the soil that infects the brain and causes the animal to lean slightly towards the infected side.
True, usually a small percentage of sheep suffer from this infection, and the way they are circled is different. They usually die after a few days.

As far as the media knows, sheep observed in Mongolia have been circling for 12 days and may still be circling. Nor is it clear to anyone how these sheep eat, drink or settle.
In several images shared by other media, it can be seen that people are standing in the center of the circle of sheep, as if frozen.
If sheep stay in a tight pen for a long time, they may start to circle at some point. This symptom is often seen among wild animals, especially big cats. Trapped in a cage, they tend to throw bows at it with no apparent meaning. Among pack animals, such behavior can prove contagious.
