Atletico Madrid moved into the final of the Spanish soccer Supercup on Thursday. Coach Diego Simeone’s team defeated in the semifinals in King Abdullah Sports City (Saudi Arabia) beat FC Barcelona 3-2 and now face Real Madrid on Sunday. The Spanish record champions had beaten Valencia 3-1 on Wednesday.
Atletico took the lead through Koke (46.), Lionel Messi (51.) and ex-Atletico professional Antoine Griezmann (62.) succeeded in turning things around for Barca. In the finish, however, Alvaro Morata (81st / penalty) and Angel Correa (86th) shot the Madrilenians to victory.
