Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the states of New York and New Mexico, according to new projections from US media, including the Associated Press on Tuesday night.
In winning the state of New York (northeast), Joe Biden can count on 29 voters, including the former Secretary of State and First Lady, Hillary Clinton. New Mexico (southwest) brings him five major voters.
It takes a minimum of 270 voters out of the 538 nationwide to be declared the winner in the US presidential election which ends Tuesday.
