Grenoble consolidated its first place by winning without trembling 4-0 against Chamonix (match postponed from the 15th day) with goals from Alexis Binner, Adel Koudri and Christophe Boivin in the first period and from Aurélien Dair in the third third-time. The Brûleurs de Loups are now ten points ahead of third-placed Bordeaux.
The Dukes of Angers are going through a more complicated period after an impeccable start to the season (7 victories in the first 7 matches). Sunday, they received a slap in the face in Rouen (6-1) and the Angevins had great difficulty overcoming Cergy-Pontoise (4-3) on their ice rink in a match postponed from the 13th day.
The Dukes opened the scoring through Nicolas Ritz but Tyler Welsh and Danick Bouchard allowed the Cergy-Pontoise Jokers to lead at the end of the first period. Peter Valier equalized before Jonathan Charbonneau gave the Dukes the lead back but Phileas Perrenoud equalized before the end of the second third. Finally Brady Shaw scored the winning goal. With this victory, Angers consolidates its second place.
Rouen is doing much better
Rouen is doing much better, even if it remains in 6th place. After a failed start to the season, the Dragons bounced back and scored a third victory in Briançon (4-6), in a match postponed from J7. A victory which comes four days after that obtained against the same Red Devils in Normandy (4-1, 17th day) and two days after the success in Angers.
The Rouen Dragons made the difference in the first period with four goals scored by Anthony Rech, twice, Alexander Lendelöf and Daniel Glad while Sean Richards equalized for Briançon.
Rouen increased its lead through Tommy Perret before William Lemay and William Persson allowed the Red Devils to come back to 5-3 at the end of the second period and maintain hope. But a goal from Florian Chakiachvili dashed the hopes of the locals. Briançon then reduced the gap at the very end of the match through Dmitry Vozovik but suffered a sixth defeat in a row against the Normans.
