With the aim of increasing its brand presence in China, Victoria’s Secret forms a franchise joint venture with Regina Miracle International Holdings, a Chinese company also dedicated to the production of lingerie. The parties involved state the project volume as 100 million dollars.
The joint venture is linked to the idea of bundling the activities of all Chinese branches of Victoria’s Secret and coordinating the online business. Regina Miracle will hold a 49 percent stake in the new company, while Victoria’s Secret will hold a 51 percent majority.
The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022, subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.
Victoria’s Secret has enlisted the support of Dentons in establishing the joint venture. The commercial law firm has advised in the areas of franchise law, corporate law, taxes and IP.
The Dentons team includes lawyers from six different countries, led by Global Head of Retail Babette Märzheuser-Wood.
