Exhibition “Victorian Jewelry”

Starting from December 20, Liepāja 17.-19. 19th century interior museum at Kungu Street 24 invites you to an exhibition of Victorian jewelry, where you can see 19th century jewelry from the collection of fashion historian Aleksandar Vasilijev.
The exhibition displays various types of jewelry and accessories that reflect the jewelry trends of the Victorian era in Europe, from belt buckles, Portbouquet flower holders, fancy brooches, chatelaines, earrings, tiaras, bracelets with included representations of ancient Greek and Roman characters, to the magnificent hair of the Art Nouveau style buckles characterized by decorations with twisted flower motifs.
The exhibition also includes unique 19th century fans, handbags and other ladies’ accessories that give a taste of the very attractive era.
The exhibition of Victorian jewelry will be on display from December 20, 2023 to April 28, 2024 on the second floor of the Liepāja Interior Museum, in the Stenderu patisserie.
Entrance fee to the exhibition: 3 EUR and 2 EUR (for senior citizens, upon presentation of a pensioner’s card).
The exhibition is organized by Liepāja Museum in cooperation with fashion historian Aleksandar Vasiļjeva and the Aleksandar Vasiļjeva Foundation in Lithuania.
