GRAMMY AWARDS – The consecration for Victoria Monét. Active in the music industry for more than a decade, the 34-year-old singer was thrust into the spotlight during the 66th Grammy Awards. During the evening, the American artist won three prizes, notably in the category of best new artist, against strong competitors, such as the rapper Ice Spice, the British singer Fred Again and the singer Coco Jones.
At the 2024 Grammy, his first studio album, Jaguar II, received two awards: for best R’n’B album and for best technical design of an album. Composed of eleven tracks, this opus has won over listeners around the world, notably thanks to the song On My Mama. A title that even appealed to Barack Obama, the former president having listed the song among his favorites of the year 2023, as you can see below:

She has also written for other internationally renowned artists, such as the K-pop group Blackpink, the girl group Fifth Harmony, but also the rapper Nas and the sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey, with whom she wrote the song Do It.
Witness to the successes of those around her, Victoria Monét went through a complicated period, when she was unable to obtain the recognition she hoped for. To the point that she considered leaving the music industry, as she revealed in an interview with Variety. “I asked myself a lot of questions: why am I so little appreciated? Why do people seem to ignore me? (…) I felt the need to prove my worth. »
With seven nominations and three trophies at the Grammy Awards, this recognition has finally arrived.
