Anton and Victoria Makarsky dreamed of children for a long time, but could not become parents in any way. Pregnancy did not occur naturally, and the couple decided on IVF. The procedure almost ended in tragedy, which the couple decided to talk about only many years later.

The actor’s wife faced terrible side effects, felt very ill, but not a single ambulance accepted the call. According to Makarska, no one wanted to take responsibility for what was happening.
“Anton barely, just already in a dead state, dragged me to a hospital in Moscow, where they did IVF for me. It turned out that I had a rare case of hyperstimulation. <...> I was swollen, a third of my lungs had water, I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t do anything at all … I just remember: I’m lying in the bathroom, it’s night and I’m dying. Fortunately, the doctors managed to save Victoria. After that, there was an examination in an Israeli clinic, plans for the third IVF. But the foreign specialist, as well as the priest, said that a new embryo replanting could turn into an oncological disease. The spouses abandoned plans for artificial insemination, and then decided to “let go” of their dream and just live, plunged into work.
About a year later, the firstborn appeared in the family – daughter Maria. Now the Makarskys are raising two children, in addition to Masha, they also have a son, Ivan. Anton and Victoria Makarsky have been churching for many years and actively profess Orthodoxy. The wife of an acclaimed artist devotes a lot of her time to guiding women on the path of faith through social media.
