Earlier that day, the future queen was also present at the online meeting of the Global Child Forum. There, Victoria admitted that she is deeply concerned about children dying as a result of the environment. Her mother, Queen Silvia, was also there.
Three children die every minute from an environmental disaster. Think of extreme weather conditions, high sea levels and air pollution or drought. Victoria stressed that we are dealing with an “environmental emergency” that threatens children’s prospects for a brighter future.
The Crown Princess is convinced that the problems are a result of climate change. She stressed that “millions of children suffer because of it”.
