Victor Wembanyama’s NBA Debut: San Antonio Spurs vs. Charlotte Hornets

Victor Wembanyama made his first game for the San Antonio Spurs, winning against the Charlotte Hornets by 76 to 68. It was his night. After all, everyone wanted to know how he played against NBA players. So when you have the first and second pick (Brandon Miller) of Draft, the match gains more prominence. But in the game itself, he had a lot of bad moments offensively. On the other side of the court, the situation was quite different. The Frenchman blocked five shots and altered his opponent’s attempts.

The first half seemed to have a team (Spurs), even with the problems in the attack of Victor Wembanyama, against a “catadão”, the Hornets. The pivot converted, there, only one of seven pitches. But in the second, he took more care of the defensive part. When he got the ball on offense, he sometimes looked flustered.

Meanwhile, Miller didn’t have a great night on offense either. He even scored 16 points, but in 15 attempts. The winger still grabbed 11 rebounds. Victor Wembanyama finished with nine points (2-13 shooting), eight rebounds, five blocks, but Julian Champagnie was the top scorer for the Spurs against the Hornets, with 20. The winger also had eight rebounds and six assists.
