Victor Wembanyama, the number 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft selected by the San Antonio Spurs, made his debut in the NBA Summer League with the reputation that LeBron James gave him, stating that “he is not a unicorn, he is a 7’3″ alien.”

I think I could have done more to help my team win this game. We have to keep learning.”
“The best show for the fans is winning. It’s obvious that it’s just the Summer League. But yes, I think they can see us progress. So I think we give them a good show,” he added.
Victor Wembanyama explained the reason for his significant improvement between the first and second games: “I felt more comfortable with myself and my body on the court, and that’s despite only having two practices and one game. I’m starting to get going.”
“I make a lot of mistakes, but the game is still less physical than in France,” the prodigy pointed out.
