Victor Ponta: “Romanians prefer to go on vacation, not to protest”

Victor Ponta, former prime minister of Romania, was the guest of Marius Tucă in an edition transmitted live by Gândul. He talked about cases where people decide to start a riot. Watch here, in full, Marius Tucă’s show.

“I watched a documentary about the uprising in Spain. It was specified what the conditions are for there to be a riot. Thus, people must be desperate and leave the instinct of conservation on the one hand, and the second – to have the impression that they have a chance of winning. When you have no chance, you have no reason to want to revolt”, declared Victor Ponta.

In Romania, people prefer to go on vacation, says the former prime minister. “They think that Easter is coming, that they are going to the mountains, to the sea, that they will eat. You can also be on the other side and think your chances of winning are zero.”
