The workshop consists of an analysis and debate of Les Miserables, one of the greatest works of universal literature. We will approach the chapters of the novel progressively, contextualizing social, literary and historical aspects. At the same time, we will enable entrances to the world of cinema with various axes that go from the various adaptations for the big screen, the life of Victor Hugo, decisive characters of the time and other themes that are connected with the universe of the novel.

Encounters by Zoom will be recorded and sent every week, in the same way as the films that are commented.

We start the week of March 15th. No prior knowledge is necessary.

“Being blind and being loved is, in this world where nothing is complete, one of the most strangely perfect forms of happiness. To have by our side a woman, a daughter, a sister, who is there precisely because we need her; feel their coming and going, leaving, entering, speaking, singing; and to think that one is the center of those steps, of that word, of that song; to become in the darkness and through the darkness, the star around which that angel gravitates, really few Congratulations equal to this one. The supreme joy of life is the conviction that we are loved, loved for ourselves; rather loved in spite of us; this conviction is held by the blind man. Is something missing? No, having love does not lose the light. There is no blindness where there is love. One feels caressed with the soul. He sees nothing, but he knows he is adored. He is in a paradise of darkness. “
