Victor Campenaerts had hoped for a stage victory in one of the three time trials before the Giro, but only today he finished in the top 10. “I am satisfied with this time trial”, said the world hour record holder.
“The course in Milan was super fast. There were a few corners, but not too technical. Perhaps Ganna has gone on faster than me.”
Campenaerts was unable to make his mark in the other time trials, he was 2nd in the shortened stage last Friday. “I am really very tired and happy to be able to go home again. It was a very strange season due to the corona virus.”
