“Victims of Charter Fraud Fear Losing Homes Despite Government Intervention”

◀ Anchor ▶

Although the government has decided to publicly purchase the houses where the victims of charter fraud live, tenants are still trembling with anxiety.

This is because you do not know when the relevant law will be made, and if the house that has already been passed on to the lending company is sold at auction right away, you will have to vacate the house.

Reporter Go Jae-min covered the story.

This is an apartment in Incheon where the damage of charter fraud was revealed in March of last year.

On March 23, when the auction was decided, a week later, on March 30, the credit union, the creditor, handed over the bonds to the capital company.

The capital firm also transferred the bonds to another lender less than a month later.

The amount of the bond, which had exceeded 120 million won, fell below half of the 60 million won, or less than the jeonse price.

Financial institutions, which judged that it would be difficult to collect receivables due to falling house prices, quickly handed over the receivables to lenders.

The hardest-hit tenants with bonded deposits have no way to avoid further damages.

″(00000 Cooperative) transferred the receivables as of April 15, 2022 to 0000 Loan Company, Inc. Due to this non-performing loan, we are currently not receiving any benefits… ″

About 1/4 of the houses damaged by charter fraud in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, have already been transferred to lenders.

The government asked financial companies to stop the auction, but if it has already passed to the 2nd and 3rd lenders, there is no reason for the lender to delay the auction while losing money.

In fact, in all four auctions held on the 20th, lenders had bonds.

Victims ask the court to postpone the date ex officio, but illegal issues may arise.

The government has announced that LH will public purchase the victim’s house that has been put up for auction through a law revision, but about 30 auctions are still being held on Monday.

The 100 legal experts and psychological counselors support service promised by the government will be closed today and tomorrow, which is a holiday.

The government and the ruling party are scheduled to hold a high-level party-governmental meeting tomorrow to discuss ways to purchase damaged homes.
