Reported CnnOn Saturday (12/17/2022), Kryvyi Rih Deputy Mayor Serhiy Milutin said three people were killed and 13 others injured as a result of the rocket attack that hit the city during Friday (12/16) local time .
Two of the dead were the parents of a 20-month-old baby who was allegedly buried under the building’s rubble. A 64-year-old woman, who has not yet been identified, has also been reported dead.
Oleksandr Vikul, head of the military authority of Kryvyi Rih city, said four of the wounded were children. Three of the injured, including a 7-year-old boy, are now in “serious condition”.
Vikul said more than 100 people lived in the apartment building that collapsed in the Russian rocket attack.
“Residents of this building and the surrounding houses, which have been damaged, are temporarily housed at the Temporary Reception Center. They have everything they need,” Vikul said in a statement.
“Rescuers from different areas of the city have eliminated the consequences of damage to the surrounding buildings, there are 30 houses, a school and a hospital. People will not be left without help,” she added.
The city of Kryvyi Rih located at Ukraine the south is one of the areas most affected by Russia’s latest missile attack.
“All of their targets today were civilian, and in particular heat and power supply facilities,” President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement.
76 missiles launched by Russia into Ukraine
At least 76 missiles were fired by Russia against the country on Friday (12/16) local time, Ukrainian military authorities said. About 60 of these missiles are claimed to have been shot down or destroyed.

The other four missiles, Zaluzhny said, were Kh-59 and KH31P air-to-surface missiles. Zaluzhny said Russian missiles were fired from the Caspian and Black Seas.
“According to preliminary data, this morning from the Caspian and Black Sea areas, the enemy fired 76 missiles, including 72 cruise missiles and four air-to-surface guided missiles, against important Ukrainian infrastructure,” Zaluzhny said in a statement. via Facebook Friday (16/12) local time.
Zaluzhny also said that as many as 60 Russian missiles were destroyed by the Ukrainian military forces and the air force’s anti-missile forces and army air defense systems.
“Rocket terror and the enemy’s daring attempts to break through the air defenses will not force us to lay down our arms,” Zaluzhny stressed.
